We have given our fellas a lot of grief for fronting on Essence Fest because it is easy for us to see what they are missing. Truth be told the ladies that have fronted are doing themselves the same disservice. Therefore, we will provide the reasons why we feel ladies need to stop fronting on Essence Fest. 

In general men are much more simple when it comes to vacations usually we want something fun and/or relaxing. Women on the other hand are more complex because they want fun and/or relaxation but also want organized activities to do. Amongst a group of friends, there usually are varying interests. What makes Essence Fest such a great place for ladies is there are a wide range of activities to participate in that will satisfy most if not all vacation desires amongst a group of friends.

Everyone knows about the concerts but also at the core of Essence Fest are the empowerment seminars and the vendors in the convention center. The seminars cover an array of impactful life topics that are authored by some of the best and brightest black figures we have to offer. The vendors offer numerous products, many of which are beauty items that are difficult to find or maybe new.  In addition, New Orleans is a great city with rich culture. Tours are a quality way to experience the city and gain a greater understanding of its rich history. Moreover, the New Orleans cuisine is off the hook and there are so many great places to meet everyone’s taste buds.

Don’t forget there is still that all day happy hour feel that permeates its self throughout the entire Essence Fest social landscape. From a woman’s perspective, the social scene is different from other places because the men  approach and treat women a much more respectful manner. Yes, there will be some unwanted advances but it is much less abrasive than other vacation weekends. This allows ladies to party on with their friends or meet some new friends without feeling bothered.

Essence Fest brings together unique features that just are not available other vacation weekends. Yeah we got on the fellas for fronting but plenty of ladies that are doing the same. Look we understand that everyone may not enjoy Essence Fest the same, however it is well worth it to try it out at least one time.
